In this slow pace kind of yoga we release tensions in the connective tissue. It is called the fascia and surrounds most parts in the body, from the deepest to the superficial levels. This tissue is rather stiff and needs time to let go of its tightness. Therefore we stay for some minutes in the different positions, mostly laying or sitting on the mat, breathing with presence and awareness. As human beings we have created habits throughout life, which have produced patterns in both body and mind and these are closely connected to our thoughts and emotions. The Yin-yoga helps us be aware of our patterns and support us finding our natural way of being. In the beginning, Yin-yoga was called âDaoist-yogaâ because of its background in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Beyond the fascia, meridians and acupuncture points are also treated by resting in the different positions. Yin-yoga is also influenced by Mindfulness and the Buddhist tradition. Presence, awareness, and compassion are among other helpful keys to meet possibilities and obstacles. Yin is one of the parts of Yin and Yang, and we need both of these in life. Although in this fast paced world we tend to spend much time in the âyang-modeâ as in âdo, strong, speed, performance, force, dynamic, outsideâ. Yin is about âbe, soft, slow, relax, let go, receive, insideâ. Interdependence prevails between Yin and Yang and they canât exist without each other. When Yin and Yang are in balance we experience moments of well-being in life. In Yin-yoga we get in contact with ourselves and we can catch sight of our values, intentions and purpose in life. Experiences from Yin-yoga often include increased flexibility, openness and authenticity in both body and mind. What we learn about ourselves on the yoga mat opens up new perspectives and brings about awareness in how we will be and act in our daily life. Tema för helgen Ă€r: Avslappning i meditativ medvetenhet. Kum Nye kallas yoga men liknar inte det vi vanligtvis förknippar med yoga. Alla kan delta och man behöver inte vara trĂ€nad för att fĂ„ ut nĂ„got av praktiken. Rörelserna rör sig mellan mjuka, lugna och mycket dynamiska, och det handlar inte om att göra dem ârĂ€ttâ, utan att bli mer medveten om kĂ€nslor och förnimmelser i kroppen. Genom rörelserna löses spĂ€nningar upp och ett inre helande startar. NĂ€r vi gĂ„r djupare rör vi oss mot stillhet, meditation och kontakt med vĂ„r inre kunskap. Den hĂ€r formen av Kum Nye Ă€r utformad av den tibetanske laman Tarthang Tulku. NĂ€r han började undervisa i vĂ€st insĂ„g han att de meditationer han lĂ€rde ut inte hade den effekt de var tĂ€nkta att ha. Everyone can participate and you do not need to be trained to get something out of the practice. The movements move between soft, calm and very dynamic, and it’s not about doing them “right”. The movements dissolves tension in body and mind, and an inner healing takes place. As we go deeper, we move towards stillness, meditation and contact with our inner knowledge. This form of Kum Nye is designed by the Tibetan Lama Tarthang Tulku. When he began teaching in the West, he realized that the meditations he was teaching did not have the effect they were supposed to have. The students he met needed to first be more present in their bodies and feelings. The practice leads to increased openness, tranquility, balance, and a sense of being more present and alive. We move and focus on the feelings and sensations in the body. Through this, changes happen by themselves. We create balance by awakening the areas that have been inactive or dull and calming down overactive areas, such as our heads and thoughts. Want to know more about Kum Nye? Since 1998 he has led courses and retreats mainly in the Gothenburg area, and periodically also online.
