YESHIN Norbu
VOLUNTEER

The centre is made possible by your contribution

Come help us make the world a little better

As a non-profit organization we are dependent on the help, support and generosity of volunteers.

There are several ways of volunteering at Yeshin Norbu. Perhaps you’re looking for a place to spend some odd hours now and again. You might find yourself with some extra time on your hand or perhaps you’re in a period of your life where you want to give back. Or you might just dig our vibe and want to be a part of it. Regardless, we always need an extra pair of hands!

We are looking for a wide variety of skills and interests! We always need help with:

  • keeping a cheerful atmosphere, making tea, coffee, shopping biscuits, greeting visitors coming to our centre;
  • preparing the venue for events;
  • help our communications wizards, especially if you’re fly on social media;
  • perhaps you’re a bit of a handyman/woman, opening impossible locks
  • sewing cushions, and curtains;
  • simple administration such as printing course material;
  • venue maintenance and care, including but not limited to some cleaning, plant care, recycling;
  • support in the preparation of food for the café, including for special events and retreats; and
  • any additional tasks to fully harness your qualifications, skills, and interest.

Feel free to contact us to let us know if you would like to volunteer at Yeshin Norbu, and any specific skills you have. Don’t worry, everyone can help with something. The important thing is to build community, have fun together, and create a cheerful atmosphere for everyone who come to the centre!

  • a precious chance to live and work with likeminded people, build community and deepen your knowledge and experiences of Tibetan Buddhist practices.

Volunteers are asked to support the overall function of the centre by performing tasks such as the below:

  • preparing the venue for events;
  • meet and greet the people visiting the centre and attending courses and events;
  • simple administration such as printing course material;
  • basic outreach and marketing tasks such as posting events on social media;
  • venue maintenance and care, including but not limited to some cleaning, plant care, recycling;
  • support in the preparation of food for the café, including for special events and retreats; and
  • any additional tasks to fully harness your qualifications, skills, and interest.

We kindly ask our volunteers to work six hours a day, five days a week (totalling 30 hours per week). Being allowed to stay and work in Sweden is a prerequisite to apply. The volunteer programme is set for four months but has the potential to be extended.
