Yeshin Norbu

Sometimes we need individual help from someone to move on in life. Now we have the opportunity to offer therapy with Maria Ström.

Maria is a CBT psychologist and also has 20 years of experience in mind training and Buddhism. Maria can help you who are in need of traditional CBT treatment to, for example, address stress, worry or anxiety, but also you who need CBT therapy and who at the same time would appreciate a Buddhist perspective in the treatment.

I work primarily with

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavioral Therapy,  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness training, Self-compassion.

I am a licensed CBT psychologist and have worked both clinically and as an organizational psychologist. I specialize in mindfulness-based interventions and am licensed in Mindful Self-compassion (MSC) and Corporate Based Mindfulness Training (CBMT). I myself have trained mindfulness for 20 years, which I have benefited greatly from both in my work as a clinical psychologist and as an organizational psychologist.

I have previously worked at a specialist clinic for fatigue syndrome, at a health center with individual CBT therapy and with group treatment (different groups in stress, relaxation and mindfulness). I have also worked organizationally with mindfulness training for leaders and employees at several large companies. Before I became a psychologist, I completed a master’s degree in chemistry, studied biomedicine and worked for many years as a project manager at Karolinska Institutet.

How I work

My main areas of expertise are stress, anxiety, fatigue syndrome, perfectionism, low self-esteem and depression. The methods I use are CBT to bring about behavior change, mindfulness to strengthen inner balance and self-awareness, and self-compassion to heal the inner critic.

The goal is to help you change what does not work in your life situation, reduce and deal with difficult emotions and find a more accepting and open approach to life and to yourself. I am passionate about strengthening your ability to live a life that is in line with your values instead of just being driven by demands that can never be met.

A typical first meeting

At a first meeting, I want to know as much as possible about you and what you experience as a problem, but also what works well in your life. This is to be able to help you change what can be changed, let go of what cannot be changed right now and to help you change your thoughts and behaviors to do more of what makes you feel good.
