——————ENGLISH——————
If we look into our hearts with a willingness to stay with our feelings, we can learn to surround discomfort with a soft loving presence that embraces all experience. No accepting and no rejecting, just simply being, aware and in love. It just takes the will to be free and the patience to sit still and witness fully our situation with care for ourselves and others. Meditation is opening to fully embrace ourselves and our lives. Just as we are, we are okay.
This weekend will be 2 sessions each day of short talks alternating with short healing meditations, and time for questions.
Paula Chichester is known for her friendly, experiential teaching style that evolved from 4 decades of training in Tibetan Buddhist meditation, healing arts, yoga and chi gong. Her ability to distill and impart the essence of these disciplines is inspired by her main teachers, Lama Thubten Yeshe and Kyabje Zopa Rinpoche. Coming out of years in meditation retreat, her heart is dedicated to help create a world of balance, compassion, wisdom and joy.

We are excited and happy that Venerable Robina Courtin is giving two online talks at Yeshin Norbu in 2021!
Venerable Robina will give two teachings on how to stay resilient in times of uncertainty:
- Friday, April 16 19.00-21.00
- Sunday, April 18 16.00-18.00
Venerable Robina Courtin, Australian-born Buddhist nun with a powerhouse personality. Her history has been one of extremes – from life as a hippie to self-declared communist to feminist before she was drawn to Buddhism.
Having initially trained as a classical singer she moved to London in 1967, where she lived for four years and became actively involved in the radical left, working mainly with a London-based support group for black and Chicano prisoners. In the early ’70s she became involved in feminist activism and returned to Melbourne in 1972 to work with other radical feminists. In her quest for a spiritual path, Robina also began studying martial arts, first in New York in 1974 and then back in Melbourne in 1976.
Later in 1976 Robina attended a Tibetan Buddhist course in Queensland and in November 1977 she traveled to Kopan Monastery in Kathmandu, Nepal for further studies and became a student of Lama Yeshe. In 1978 she was ordained as a Buddhist nun in Dharamsala, India.
”When I met Buddhism I felt like I had found something I had lost, because, from a karmic point of view, it was something I’d had before, in previous lives. When I heard it again, it was like coming home.”

——————ENGLISH——————
Grief are all the often conflicting emotions that arise by a change in a familiar pattern in life. It is not just death that causes grief. Divorce, a broken love affair, unemployment, illness, or a feeling that life is not progressing the way we want it to can trigger this emotion. Regardless of why we feel grief, living with this emotion for extended periods of time can have a lifelong negative impact on our wellbeing. We become better equipped to heal our grief by talking about it and share our experiences with others.
