These two sessions are a good introduction for the How to meditate course, which is the second module of the 2-year Discovering Buddhism module. 

Denna kurs är utformad för att ge deltagaren en översikt av olika grundläggande meditationstekniker. Vi lär oss om vilka färdigheter man kan utveckla i meditation och hur man använder dem i vardagen. Kursen vänder sig i första hand till personer som är nya till meditation eller till buddhism. Den passar dock också bra om man har ägnat sig mycket åt meditation inom andra traditioner och är nyfiken på hur man traditionellt praktiserat inom den Tibetansk buddhistiska traditionen.

The course is suitable for people encountering both meditation and Buddhism for the first time, as well as for people who have done some meditation in other traditions but would like to know more about how meditation is practiced in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. It provides an overview of meditation and basic meditation techniques. It includes an explanation of what kinds of skills are developed in meditation and how to apply them in daily life.

  • Venerable Michael Yeshe

    Venerable Michael Yeshe

    Venerable Michael was born in London in 1966 to a Greek father and a Belgian mother. He was raised in Kopan Monastery in Nepal and has been a monk in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition since the age of 7. At age 13, he entered the Sera Jey Monastic University in South India where he spent the next 18 years studying Buddhist Philosophy. Since 1996, Ven Michael Yeshe has been invited to Buddhist centres in America, Singapore, Malaysia and Holland as a translator and teacher. For 11 years he was residing at the Tara Institute in Melbourne where he served as translator for Venerable Geshe Doga.

    Venerable Michael is a resident teacher at Yeshin Norbu since autumn 2020 and leads our Buddhist courses and retreats.
