Geshe-ma Chokyi kommer att undervisa om lojong, mind training vertyg som hjälper att omvandla problem till lycka. Det kommer att finnas möjlighet att ställa frågor på slutet. Geshe-ma kommer att undervisa på tibetanska och det kommer att översättas till engelska av Lola Odessey. Undervisninen är baserat på The Eight Verses for Training the Mind av Geshe Langri Tangpa. 

Om Geshe ma Ngawang Chokyi:

Fram till nyligen gavs enbart munkar den så kallade Geshe-examen inom tibetansk buddhism. Geshe-examen motsvarar en doktorsexamen i buddhistisk filosofi och kräver tjugo till tjugofem års intensiva studier. En av de första nunnor som fick Geshe-examen är Ngawang Chokyi. Ngawang Choki har en speciell relation till FPMT då hon är systerdotter till Lama Thubten Yeshe, som tillsammans med Lama Zopa Rinpoche grundade FPMT.

1991 flydde Ngawang Chokyi flydde från Tibet som ung nunna och tillbringade sina nästkommande tjugofyra år med att studera buddhismen i Indien för att därefter få sin Geshe-examen. Hon har av Lama Zopa Rinpoche uppmanats att undervisa i buddhistisk filosofi i väst.

Geshe ma Chokyi will teach on lojong, special mind training techniques that helps us transform problems into happiness. There will be Q&A in the end of the session. Geshe-ma will teach in Tibetan, and there will be translation into English by Lola Odessey. The teaching will be based on Geshe Langri Tangpa’s The Eight Verses for Training the Mind

About Geshe ma Ngawang Chokyi: 

Until recently, only men were allowed to complete the Geshe degree within Tibetan Buddhism. Geshe degree is equivalent to PhD in philosophy and requires twenty to twenty-five years of intense study. One of the first female Geshes is Venerable Ngawang Chokyi who has a special relationship with FPMT. She is a niece of Lama Thubten Yeshe who together with Lama Zopa Rinpoche founded FPMT.

Venerable Ngawang Chokyi fled Tibet in 1991 as a young nun and spent twenty- four years studying in South India and Dharamsala to receive her Geshe degree. Venerable Ngawang Chokyi has been kindly requested by Lama Zopa Rinpoche to teach Buddhist philosophy in the West.
