——————ENGLISH——————
âIllness, suffering and death are part of the reality of human existence. It would be foolish to pretend that we are not sick when we are, or that we will never die, as it would be to deny the possibility of ever getting well.â – The Dalai Lama
Â
Most of us live in denial of death. However, it is inevitable that we experience the loss of a loved one at some stage in our lives. It is also inevitable that we ourselves experience death someday. The Buddhist teachings offer practical guidelines on how to cultivate an awareness of impermanence and death, which helps to strengthen our spiritual practice. By accepting death as part of our natural existence, we can better deal with grief when we lose a dear one, likewise it can help prepare for oneâs own death.
Â
In this one day course Venerable Michael will introduce some meditation techniques on the awareness of death and the actual death process as explained in the Buddhist texts. There will also be time for questions and discussion.
