buddhism weekend courses
…
One of the great advantages of being a center affiliated with the FPMT is that we have access to a great number of highly qualified Buddhist teachers. These include ordained and lay teachers who have spent decades studying and practicing Buddhist psychology and philosophy at monastic universities in India, Nepal, and Tibet as well as at Buddhist education centers in the west.
Many of the teachers (like Geshe Sherab, Venerable Robina, and Stephan Pende) have been coming to Yeshin Norbu for many years and their teachings have been very appreciated. There is something very special about receiving teachings from someone who is devoting their entire life to the practice. The benefits come both from the depth of knowledge, but equally from the presence and embodied kindness and wisdom of these teachers.
A weekend with a visiting teacher usually combines lectures with guided meditations.

Läs mer om programmet Discovering Buddhism Kursdatum: 11 mars During this retreat we will integrate meditation practices to cultivate a calm and focused mind with the analytical meditations from the Discovering Buddhism module Mind and its Potential. For participants of the Discovering Buddhism course this provides an opportunity to both review and deepen the practices covered in the module. For other participants it provides an opportunity to have a very practical and experiential overview of and introduction to these practices. Examine the meaning of “mind” according to Buddhism, its nature and function, and how it determines our experience of happiness and suffering. Explore the differentiation between mind and brain, how mind is the creator of our experiences, and the implications of possessing a mind that has no beginning and no end. Learn methods to transform destructive thoughts and attitudes and develop a more positive and joyous mind. Be prepared to look deeply into your own mind to discover its nature, its functions and the profound depth of its potential. Be prepared to look into the particular mind-set generated by your culture and society, education, religious background and environment, and the upbringing you have had within your family.
