Medium scope: Great scope Läs mer om våra buddhistiska kurser Kursdatum: 2 maj – 13 juni (ingen lektion den 30 maj) The graded stage teachings, also known as the lam-rim, provide a structure into which we can fit all of Buddha’s sutra teachings, from start to finish. The lam-rim clearly shows how all the teachings fit together and is intended as a personal instruction for our own spiritual development. Lamrim: the graduated path to enlightenment course is for those who have studied Discovering Buddhism or other study programs within Tibetan Buddhism and would like to do a review of lam-rim and focus on meditation and reflection. There will be teachings during the first hour, followed by some time for discussion, and at least half an hour for doing meditation practice together on the specific lam-rim topic. The course structure will be based on the booklet “Kopan Monastery lam-rim outline” compiled by Venerable Karin Valham. They are available in our book shop. The text is divided into preliminary practices and the training of the small, medium and great scopes of the lam-rim. The specific training of each scope is further divided into various topics which are to be studied and meditated on. As an in-depth understanding on each of the topics of the three scopes is essential for one’s spiritual progress, Venerable Michael will also be using other sources of lam-rim teachings to compliment the simple outline and meditations of this booklet. Tengyur Rinpoche will give a teaching on the Three Principal Aspects of the Path, a seminal text by Je Tsongkhapa that describes the three principal aspects of the path—the intention to be free (renunciation), the mind of enlightenment (bodhicitta), and the right view of the wisdom realizing emptiness—how to cultivate them, and how to know when you have realized them. This small text contains the essence of the entire teaching of Lord Buddha. Lama Yeshe said, “In Tibetan, we call this text Lam tso nam sum. Historically, this book derives from Je Tsongkhapa’s direct, visual communication with Lord Manjushri. Manjushri gave him this teaching and then Lama Je Tsongkhapa gave it to his disciples.” There will be Q&A session in the end of the teaching. Tengyur Rinpoche’s biography: Tengyur Rinpoche is a geshe lharampa graduate from Sera Jey Monastery, a junior English translator for His Holiness the Dalai Lama since 2012, currently doing Master’s program at Harvard Divinity School. What determines oneself a Buddhist is when one voluntarily takes refuge in the Buddha, dharma and sangha from one´s heart. What determines oneself a Buddhist is when one voluntarily takes refuge in the Buddha, dharma and sangha from one´s heart. This is a personal choice that can be made after having gained foundational understanding of the Buddha´s teachings. When one reaches a point where one decides to follow the Buddhist path as a Buddhist, then that decision is established firmly and strongly in one’s mind by formally taking refuge from a qualified master who upholds the unbroken lineage of refuge. The evening session will present the purpose, meaning and benefits as well as the commitments of taking refuge. This session is recommended for those who wish to formally take refuge, as well as for those who haven´t yet made a definite decision but would like to understand more about what it means to take refuge. Datum: 26 maj We do Tara practice together, led by Venerable Michael Yeshe. Group practices create a sense of belonging and add strength to our intentions. It is said that a solitary practice is like a spark, while a group practice is like a raging fire. When we practice together we get support from the group to make our practice more focused, intensive, and deep. The positive effects of our practice spread like ripples on water, so let’s contribute to peace in the world by practicing together! In the end of the Green Tara Practice we dedicate the positive energy we have created by doing the practice to the well-being of all sentient beings. We pray and dedicate for individuals as well – for sick, dying, dead, and for success in activities. You can send your dedications to [email protected]. Welcome! This event is only for those who are familiar with the practice.
On May 31 Lama Chopa Tsog will be offered on the occasion of the 49th This event is only for those who are familiar with the practice. On May 31 Lama Chopa Tsog will be offered on the occasion of the 49th day since Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s parinirvana. Yeshin Norbu centre has a great fortune to have His Eminence Jhado Rinpoche presiding this puja. If you want to come early to help set up the altars and offerings, please come at 16.00. Please download Lama Chopa (you can use one-click download to download the text quicker) as well as Swift Return Prayers. If you plan to come in person and have a tablet, please bring your tablet. Lama Chopa, also called Guru Puja, is a beautiful, profound practice where we make offerings to and request blessings and inspiration from the Three Jewels and the Spiritual Teacher (whether or not the teacher is physically present). Lama Chopa with Tsog Offering is an excellent practice for accumulating merit and pacifying obstacles on the path to enlightenment. His Eminence Jhado Rinpoche From 1992 until 1996, Rinpoche served as a teacher at Namgyal Monastery in Dharamsala, the personal monastery of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. In 1997, Rinpoche was appointed to the post of Abbot of Namgyal Monastery, and served the institution in that capacity until 2004. Jhado Tulku Rinpoche is one of the most highly esteemed lamas in the Geluk lineage today. In addition to his excellent education in the Geluk monastic college system, over the years Rinpoche has also received many oral transmissions and empowerments from His Holiness the Dalai Lama and his two main tutors, as well as from many great teachers from other traditions, including the famous Nyingma master Trulshik Rinpoche and Chogye Trichen Rinpoche. Renowned for his keen intelligence and dynamic teaching style, Jhado Rinpoche is also highly acclaimed for his ability to engage Western students in ways that are interesting and personally relevant. In addition to these qualities, Rinpoche is also well known and loved for his gentle demeanour and his kindness. How to Practice Dahrma in Daily Life Public talk In relation to the complexities of everyday life and constantly changing contexts, the teaching of the Buddha proposes to deepen our understanding of both the world and ourselves, to unlock the secrets of our mind, as well as bring out genuine love and compassion, in order to gradually manifest all the qualities that naturally exist within us. This journey will uncover the actual and potential qualities of your mind and encourage you to embrace a life deeply turned towards the search for enlightenment, for your own good as well as that of all beings. As a result, Dharma occurs spontaneously, on its own, as one goes through daily vicissitudes with peace and clarity in mind. Geshe Namdak’s Wednesday evening philosophy classes continue in 2023. Between May and November, we’ll take a deep-dive into new texts and new aspects of the Buddhist view of reality.
Liberation from suffering samsara and achieving enlightenment depend on the realisation of emptiness. To generate a clear understanding of emptiness, we need to depend on the works of the Indian masters and their philosophy. This course will explain the different views of emptiness in the schools of Buddhist Philosophy and will mainly focus on the Chittamātra and Mādhyamaka schools in the context of the eight uncommon points of the Prāsaṅgika School. At the conclusion of this course Geshe Namdak will summarize these important points of emptiness with An Experiential Song on the View, Recognising My Mother by Changkya Rolpai Dorje.
To attend this course, one should have a basic understanding of the Buddhist teachings and Buddhist philosophy.
June: 7, 21, 28
July: 5, 12, 19
September: 6, 13, 20, 27
October: 4, 18, 25
November: 1, 8
Our courses and classes on Buddhist philosophy and practice rely on a skilled teacher to bring them to life. We’re extremely fortunate to have a supremely qualified Resident Teacher to do just that. After completing his university studies in Hydrology, Geshe Namdak worked as an environmental researcher in the Netherlands. He began studying Buddhism at Maitreya Institute and was eventually ordained by His Holiness the Dalai Lama before completing the 20-year Geshe degree at Sera Jey monastic university in India, as well as the traditional one-year Vajrayana study program at Gyume Tantric College. Few people can combine this extensive Buddhist education with a rigorous scientific training. The result is Geshe Namdak’s unique teaching style, which is at once incisive, clear, warm and humorous.Biljetter

Tengyur Rinpoche
Tengyur Rinpoche
In 1990, at the age of nine he formally joined Sera Jey Monastery in Bylakuppe. The following year, when His Holiness the Dalai Lama visited Gyudmed Tantric College, he recognized Tengyur Rinpoche as the reincarnation of Drengkhar Khensur Urgen Gonpo, one of the former abbots of Tawang Monastery. Subsequently he was recognized at Sera Je Monastery and Gaden Namgyal Lhatse Monastery in Tawang.
Tengyur Rinpoche studied at Sera Je Secondary School from 1991 to 1998 and received his Secondary School Certificate with distinction. In 1998, he began his advanced philosophical and dialectical training and studies at Sera Jey Monastery where he undertook the three-year foundational course on Pramana, the seven-year Paramita (Perfection of Wisdom), the four-year Madhyamika (Middle-way Philosophy), three-year Vinaya (Monastic Discipline), and one-year Adhidharma (Metaphysics in Buddhism) courses. He was awarded the Geshe Lharampa degree (comparable to a PhD) in 2020. He received his novice ordination from His Eminence Choden Rinpoche at Sera Jey in 1994 and full ordination from His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 2009.
In addition to the formal monastic curriculum, Tengyur Rinpoche made time to study Tibetan and English grammar and literature. He has attended various conferences and discussions on Tibetan grammar and literature as well as on science and Buddhism, and he has written articles on these topics. He had the rare opportunity of serving as English interpreter for His Holiness in numerous teachings attended by thousands from all over the world. He is a Registered Teacher of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition and has taught at many FPMT centers globally.
In 2014, inspired by His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s advice for followers of Buddhism to engage more actively in social causes, Tengyur Rinpoche established Thubten Shedrubling Foundation (TSF) in Tawang in order to build a school for economically underprivileged children and a center where lay adults can study Buddhism, Tibetan language and other subjects such as English and computer skills that will help them advance professionally. TSF has been offering free after-school and adult learning classes since 2017 and founded the Tashol Tengyur School in 2022. Tid
